Art and English Faculty Exhibit

In the Honors Art Gallery through the end of the school year,  students can see the collaborative creative efforts of the English and Visual Arts faculty. Creative collaboration has been around for hundreds of years, but it is enjoying a resurgence in the contemporary arts scene. Spearheaded by Stephanie McConnell and David Love, the English faculty created writings and the arts faculty of the upper and lower school, responded to them. The result of their efforts range from printmaking to drawing, sculpture to mixed mixed media collage.

College NIght for the Visual Arts

Last evening, GA Alums Ashley Begley and Amy Canavan, along with parent and master chocolatier, Tom Sciascia were our guest panelists for our annual College night held each spring.  Current students and their parents heard first hand about preparing portfolios for college, choosing between liberal arts colleges and universities and art schools, careers in the arts, and the value of mentors and internships in creative fields.

Small Metals Club takes Field Trip to Lambertville

On Saturday May 5 nine members of the small metals club awoke very early to head to The Golden Nugget antique market to search for treasures they could re-purpose into jewelry.  After a number of hours in the cold and damp, the group returned back to GA with lots of ideas for new work and all the more inspired for having foraged for the materials themselves.
