Leah Frankel's Wood Over Water

Wood Over Water is an outdoor installation that will include miniature sculptures created by students.  When the students have made the miniature sculptures, they will be collected, attached to the side of the bridge with string, and dropped into the creek.  Each sculpture will move differently in the water.  This piece will show the force of the current, and my hope is to have passersby feel the resistance by the touching the string.  Ideally, viewers will feel free to interact with the installation, utilizing sight, sound, and touch.  This installation will provide a gathering place for students and will offer a common experience for discussion.
