Visiting Artist: Tom Sciascia of The Painted Truffle

Last Friday, Tom Sciascia, Master Chocolatier, entrepreneur,  and artist, spent the morning with GA art students talking about his journey from painter to medical illustrator, graphic designer, to chocolatier. He reminded the students to follow their passion, hone their intellect and creative skills, take risks, and seize the opportunities given to them. Connecting the success of Sciascia Confections, a company that he conceptualized and evolved with his wife Loren, to an interest spurred by a Tootsie Roll maker given to him as a present at the ripe age of 8 years, reminded us all that inspiration comes when we least expect it and it takes us to places we can not always predict.  Isn't that always the way of the artist?
