Last weekend ( Oct 4-7) The Pennsylvania Art
Education Association's held their annual conference in Harrisburg, PA . The theme for the conference
was "
Design for Life" with the
stated goal " to strengthen the bond between art, design thinking, and
education". There were many insightful presentations on the integration
of science, technology, engineering, arts, math ( STEAM) into the
curriculum along with workshops that explored
new artistic trends, methods… Our own David Love presented on his curriculum: " Integrating inventive design concepts into
observational drawing lessons". It featured many examples of GA student works , past and present, illustrating methods and
projects that took time honored observational drawing lessons into more
creative design-based directions.
