Sculpture students were asked to imagine the framework for their ideal creative space. They visualized a place of creative thought where time and space allowed them to feel most at home a place where
their imaginations were without boundaries. They sketched
several iterations of the space and then created their structure out of
balsa wood. The structure was intentionally simply a “framework”. Then students were asked to think about the studio they work in at school and envision it as the place where their individual frameworks merge building a
framework for individualism and collaboration. The final version of the assignment involved combining the structures to create one collective creative framework that serves as a visual reminder that through collaboration and
consideration creative possibilities are infinite. The entire piece is on view through the end of October in The Roberts Library.
