GA Wins Big at PA 10 Day Film Challenge

GA upper school students  had a great day at the PA 10 Day Film Fest which was held at the United Artists Riverview Plaza 17 & RPX in Philly yesterday where our student film makers won a number of awards and were nominated in the following categories:

Killing Time - written and produced by Sam Korman, Dylan Bass, and Bailey Whitman

"I couldn't be more  proud of our young filmmakers." Reports Dainis Roman, Media Teacher.  GA will be able to see this work on April 29th at the Best of GA video assembly next week.

GA Students win the 10 Day Film Challenge

"Everything We Dreamed Of" is a depiction of a high school valedictorian's last minute struggles to complete his speech for graduation day. While he is drained from his intense writers block, he falls into a dream state that takes him back in time to a physical walk through of his entire childhood schooling experience from elementary days to his senior year. In remembering the impactful experiences of his days in grade school, he achieves an epiphany which ultimately allows him to complete his speech in time for graduation. Student Film Makers

"Killing Time" is a supernatural themed short film that follows Rick Wilson (Matt Gorman) after he finds a haunted egg timer that he found after the death of his grandfather. Despite many efforts to ditch the evil timer Rick continues to rediscover it, which in turn causes unnatural events to occur in his life. student Film Makers Matt Gorman and seniors Dylan Bass & Sam Korman.

Senior Artist Exhibits At Drexel University

Senior K Griswold will have her photograph titled "Amish Boys, 2014" exhibited at Drexel University's Westphal College Art Gallery in Philadelphia from February 7 through March 6, 2015. She was among a small number of student artists chosen for the honor from a pool of thousands of applicants to the Drexel University National High School Photography Competition. GA Winners in Scholastic Art and Writing Competition

GA Students Nancy Cui and Xena Wang were honored by the 90th Annual Scholastic Arts competition earlier this year for their art and writing.  Nancy earned two Gold Key Awards and two Silver Key Awards. “Lion Lamp” a piece made in her Sculpture Honors class, won the Gold Key Awards.

Xena submitted both art and writing to the same competition where she received one Gold Key Award  and one honorable mention for her writing, and  Silver Keys for each of her 5 painting submissions.

We are proud of their accomplishments!

Another Win for H. Moldofsky

Heather received Honorable Mention at the Greater Norristown Art League Non-Pro Show  for her photograph "Written in Dust" which was taken in New York City,  this part fall for a class assignment.

Heather Moldofsky wins Purchase Prize!

Heather Moldofsky, GA senior, won Honorable Mention at the Greater Norristown Art League exhibition over the weekend with a black and white silver gelatin triptych.  She was furhter honored by having the art work purchased by an attendee of the event.  This is the second time Heather has been recognized by the art league.
