Program Description

The Visual Art Department at Germantown Academy is committed to providing a comprehensive education in the arts within the context of a liberal arts education. Our foundation and advanced curriculum is a well-rounded and versatile approach to the study and application of art. It is designed to provide a creatively stimulating education in an open environment of studio classes. Experimentation and innovation, collaboration and social responsibility are themes built into the curriculum. While these courses extend excellent opportunities for the general study of art and life-long arts advocacy, they are also designed to cultivate serious talents in the visual arts. Many of our students have gone on to prominent careers in commercial, fine, and applied arts.

GA Wins Big at PA 10 Day Film Challenge





GA upper school students  had a great day at the PA 10 Day Film Fest which was held at the United Artists Riverview Plaza 17 & RPX in Philly yesterday where our student film makers won a number of awards and were nominated in the following categories:

Everything We Dreamed Of - written and produced by Gabe Alter & Niki Roman

Awards
Audience Choice Award
Best Sound
Best Overall Film 7th Place

Nominated for
Artistic Merit Award
Best Editing

Killing Time - written and produced by Sam Korman, Dylan Bass, and Bailey Whitman

Nominated for Best Opening Titles
 
"I couldn't be more  proud of our young filmmakers." Reports Dainis Roman, Media Teacher.  GA will be able to see this work on April 29th at the Best of GA video assembly next week.
